Documents from Thailand
The following documents will be obtained after the marriage:
- Marriage certificate
- Marriage confirmation letter from the Islamic Committee to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla (for marriages involving Malaysian citizens only)
- A group picture of the wali, witnesses and the bride and groom, stamped by the Islamic Committee
- Marriage confirmation letter from the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla (for marriages involving Malaysian citizens only)
The confirmation letter from the Consulate General's office is very important for Malaysians. Your marriage in Thailand is not recognized and cannot be registered in Malaysia without this letter.
What to bring to Thailand
1. Malaysian Citizens
Bring along the following:
- Passport, valid for at least 6 months
- Identity Card
- Camera or telephone to record the nikah, as evidence for the syaria court later
- Divorced women must bring the original divorce certificate. Copies will not be accepted.
- Widows must bring the deceased husband's original death certificate. Copies will not be accepted.
- Those who have reverted to Islam must bring the original mualaf certificate. If you have not reverted, you may do so just before the nikah ceremony in Thailand. Men who have reverted to Islam, or who wish to revert to Islam in Songkhla just before marriage, must be circumcized.
2. Non-Malaysian citizens
- Passport, valid for at least 6 months.
- Depending on your country, a visa may be required from the Thai embassy before you can enter Thailand. Call the Thai embassy in your country to find out.
- Bring a camera or mobile phone if you wish to have a video recording of your nikah ceremony.
- Divorced women must bring the original divorce certificate. Copies will not be accepted.
- Widows must bring the deceased husband's original death certificate. Copies will not be accepted.
- Those who have reverted to Islam must bring the original mualaf certificate. If you have not reverted, you may do so just before the nikah ceremony in Thailand. Men who have reverted to Islam, or who wish to revert to Islam in Songkhla just before marriage, must be circumcized.
- Men who are not circumcised can still marry in the office of The Islamic Committee of Satun.
- For marriage involving a Malayssian, Two working days will be required for complete marriage documents to be obtained. For marriage not involving a Malaysian, one day is required.

Miscellaneous Prices
- Conversion to Islam: RM100
- Additional hotel room: RM100 per night
Marriage in Songkhla, Thailand involving Malaysian citizens
Duration: 3 working days.
Price: RM1,700 excluding hotel, mahar and personal expenses. Add RM200 if you want a hotel room included. Or you can book your own hotel room.
- We will take you to the office of the Islamic Committee of Songkhla or Satun to get married
- When the marriage certificate has been obtained, we will take you to the Malaysian Consulate General's office in Songkhla to apply for a marriage confirmation letter (for nikah involving a Malaysian citizen only).
- Following that, will will take you for lunch and then to a hotel in Songkhla, Hat Yai or Danok.
- We will fetch you from your hotel the next day, take you to the Consulate General's office to get the confirmation letter after 1 PM, then drive you back to your hotel, Hat Yai airport or Bukit Kayu Hitam for your journey home
Marriages not involving Malaysian citizens
Duration: 1 day (including weekends, excluding Friday).
Price: 13,500 Baht excluding hotel, mahar and personal expenses
- Be at the Duty Free Complex at Bukit Kayu Hitam before 1pm on any day, or we can pick you up from a hotel in Hat Yai or the airport in Hat Yai before 1:30pm Thai time.
- We will take you to the office of the Islamic Committee of Songkhla to get married
- When the marriage certificate has been obtained, we will take you back to Bukit Kayu Hitam, your hotel or the Hat Yai airport

Confirmation Letter from Malaysian Consulate
If you hold a work permit in Malaysia, you will not be able to apply for the confirmation letter from the Consulate General of Malaysia.
If you are attached to the Police or Armed Forces in Malaysia, obtain written permission from your Head of Department before going to Thailand. Without it, you cannot apply for the confirmation letter from the Consulate General of Malaysia.

- Our cars and vans are based in Danok, Thailand
- If a vehicle breaks down or an accident happens, we can quickly send a new car and a new driver so that the joureney can continue without much delay
- All our drivers are Thai nationals so that they can easily interact with the locals in case of any unexpected problem
Note that agents who operate alone and drive couples to Thailand themselves cannot provide sufficient support during the registration process in Malaysia, because they are usually in Thailand!!
